JUNE 28TH - JULY 12TH , 2017  LOVE, THE MEMORIES: SHIN CHEOL SOLO EXHIBITION

JUNE 28TH - JULY 12TH , 2017        LOVE, THE MEMORIES: SHIN CHEOL SOLO EXHIBITION

Shin Cheol, one of the most successful painters in South Korea, also well known for the <recollection> series, is having the 1st solo exhibition <Love, the memories> in Los Angeles, at Gallery CLU. Giving life to all the memories from his childhood in a small (Chung-san) island, a naïve girl with short-hair, flowers, a toy plane, and also other emotional motifs appear with comforting background. Somehow, Shin Chul reminds us of Joan Miró, who had only 3 themes of drawing (Stars, birds, and women) throughout the entire career, with his own kid-like pureness that only deepens as time passes by. Girls in the canvas represent ‘warming and comforting moments regardless of difficulties in life.’ Life can’t be sunshine and rainbow at all times, but Shin Chul asks us to move on and make a better today with loving moments that would never disappear. The 1st solo exhibition <Love, the memories> will include 11 new marvelous works and 9 more that have never been exposed to the public. The exhibition date is from June 28th to July 12th.
