By Submitting work to CXU Gallery, you agree to these Terms.
1. Open Call Series Selection
Submissions are accepted and evaluated on a rolling basis.
Only selected artists will be contacted, exhibition is not guaranteed. CXU Gallery may accept or decline any submission at its sole discretion.
2. Fees
US $30 non‑refundable submission fee per application. Fees cannot be waived or refunded.
Individuals may submit multiple applications if they wish to present new works. Each application is subject to fee.
3. Presentation
Submitted works must be installation ready.
Both framed or unframed works are eligible.
The Gallery may adjust presentation for safety or curatorial consistency.
Glass glazing is prohibited. Plexiglass glazing is accepted, but not preferred.
4. Shipping, Delivery & Returns
Artist is fully responsible for: All shipping, packaging, insurance, customs, and related costs.
Requirements:
Submitted works may be no more than 50lbs, as shipped.
There are no dimensional limits for submissions. Works may be any size, provided they weigh less than 50 lbs. as shipped.
Packaging & Repackaging:
Artists must pack works securely.
Original packing will be reused if possible.
Return & Collection:
Artists must provide a prepaid return shipping label and email a copy to the Gallery. FedEx, UPS, or DHL are recommended.
Unsold works must be shipped or collected by the closing date stated in the acceptance.
Post show storage for unsold works is available. If storage should be required, contact CXU Gallery directly for pricing.
After 3 months, uncollected works may be sold, donated, or destroyed at the Gallery’s discretion, with no further notice or compensation.
Insurance & Risk:
Artists are strongly encouraged to carry their own insurance for shipping, transit, and all periods before and after the show.
The Gallery is not responsible for any loss, theft, or damage after the exhibition ends, including during the 3‑day pickup grace period.
Sales & Commission:
All sales during the exhibition or resulting from it (including follow‑up sales related to the exhibition) are split 50% artist / 50% Gallery.
Artist is paid after the Gallery receives full payment from the buyer and required tax forms.
5. Use of Submitted Materials
Artists retain all intellectual property rights to their work.
By submitting or exhibiting, you grant the Gallery a non‑exclusive, worldwide, royalty‑free license to use images and information about your work and practice for: Promotion and marketing (website, social media, press, catalogues, etc.), documentation, archives, event‑related materials, educational materials.
Ownership of the artwork and copyright remains with the artist.
8. Data & Communications
We may collect basic personal data (e.g., name, email, contact info) when you use cxugallery.org, submit work, or contact us.
We use this data to: process submissions, communicate with you, handle sales and administration. We take reasonable steps to protect this information and share it only with staff and contractors as needed.
9. Website Content & IP
All text, images, and media on the cxugallery.org are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or use cxugallery.org content without prior written permission from CXU Gallery or rights holders.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CXU Gallery shall not be responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of our website, services, or artwork purchases.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
12. Changes to These Terms
CXU Gallery reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page.
