Rooted in the high desert landscape of Phelan, California, Kim's work reflects on the plants and animals that endure within an environment shaped by extreme heat, cold, wind, fire, and scarce water. Through these resilient forms of life, she explores survival not as chance, but as an ongoing process of adaptation, endurance, and quiet strength.
In Precious Survivors, the fragile and the tenacious coexist. Kim draws attention to the rhythms of the earth and the remarkable vitality of living things that persist within harsh yet magnificent environments.
